Living Room

Written December 4, 2012

You’ve entered the front door and admired the staircase. Now turn right and voila! The living room. The view used to be this.

And now the view is this.

Comparatively speaking, this room didn’t need a whole lot of major renovation, but rather just the basics. The popcorn ceiling was redone, one section of the ceiling was cut out for ductwork, electric and radiant heat was removed, and the floors and windows were refurbished as they were everywhere else in the house. Here are a couple of pictures during this process.

It was also often a work space for many of the contractors since it was less torn up than other rooms. The painters used it for a couple of weeks in late August. Here are a couple of photos of their sawhorses and stacks of paint cans and lights.

And one last angle before and then after. By the way, pay close attention to those carptet-bag-esque curtains. You’ll see those again very soon.
