Ilene’s husband, Conrad, asked that several photos be added to the altar taken during sacred rituals with the Maya people in Santiago Atitlan Guatemala. They were displayed on the altar via a digital frame that was removed from the altar prior to photographing since they would not show up well. They are depicted here so you can see them clearly.
This first one is that of Ilene’s crypt in Santiago Atitlan.
And this shows her crypt after it was painted pink for the Dia de los Muertos festival.
The main papercut image of Ilene was created using an image of her meditating in Santiago Atitlan, Guatemala.
The remaining photos depict Conrad, Ilene and others in the midst of various sacred rituals in Santiago Atitlan.
And last, one of my favorites. Ilene shortly after her breast-cancer diagnosis sending all of us love and asking for blessings in return.
