Moving into the West Central neighborhood has provided us the opportunity to call a host of creative people our neighbors. Jane Meredith is one of those neighbors. She has creativity oozing out of her, with an eye for color and that unique ability to see images together long before they actually manifest. At one of the weekly porch parties I invited her to hang any of her stained and leaded glass creations in our home for the 2013 West Central Home and Garden Tour. Lucky for us, she took us up on it.
I don’t happen to very fond of or well versed in the area of window treatments, so seeing her gorgeous pieces in our open windows provided me inspiration for something beyond the typical curtain. Thanks to the hanging expertise of her husband, Jack, her pieces slid right into our home and looked like they had been made to be here.
Her Rose Trellis Duet of beveled leaded glass were perfect in our front living room windows.
And Blue Danube (pictured at the top of this post), a piece from her Silk Road Series, brought our river theme to the forefront and pulled together the colors from all corners of the house.
The long windows in the back stairwell suited Four Squared and Mirrored, warming it up and catching everyone’s eyes as they ventured out at the end of the tour.
These pieces will leave us soon and move onto their next venue hoping to be sold. If you’re interested in connecting with Jane for these pieces or other commissioned work, you may message her through her Facebook page.
