This collection of collages started with the desire to create an unconventional family portrait. I photographed and drew my eyes as well as those of my husband and three children. The circle of these images formed the heart of each collage in this series.
This piece, Connected by the Web of Love, depicts the energy of the web of life surrounding us and connecting us to each other.
The original is a 16 x 16″ plywood base with Tyvek papercutting, marbled paper, stretched gauze, and acrylic paint. It hangs in my studio so those loving eyes are always gazing at me.
