Creativity…the Road of the Unknown

I am a musician.  Over the last 7 years I have created and published almost 50 albums of music in CD form, and another series of albums and individual pieces in download form.  This is a lot of music.

What does that level of creativity do to or for my personal life?  Sometimes I identify myself only as the amount of “creative work” that comes forth, or the amount of albums that are sold. Sometimes I get so caught up in the excitement of new music that nothing else seems important. Neither of these spaces are the space of the Soul and the Source of the music that emerges effortlessly in my life.  When I am living my personal life from either space, the music may be ensouled and beautiful and just right for the person or people who will be encountering it, but in my own life, I will get really tired, or sick, or start making excuses for not being able to see friends, etc.

It is not the level of creativity that causes difficulty in my body or personal life, it is the lack of connection to Soul in the aspects of creativity that are not the exact recording or performance of music.  It is not the amount of work that it takes to release an album.  It is only whether the core of myself is centered in Source, or in a smaller place.  Always, I am connected to Source, and settled in the arms of the Sacred Feminine,  when I create music. Sometimes I am not connected in the same way when looking at the outer schedule of recording studio time, marketing time, connecting with customers time, shipping time, website maintenance time, etc.

This is a journey for a lifetime, and a great adventure!

So….my challenge is always that the person who composes, performs, and records music and is centered into the Source of all Music….that person can infuse all of my life with that same centered core.  The creation of music is exciting, and life-giving.

Music pours in and the sense of connection to Source is just profound.
